For this opera me and another assistant did the bulk of the research and artisan work. The model box was in quarter inch scale. I mostly built the models and Hannah mostly painted them, but we switched on and off throughout the process. We also ended up doing a fair amount of painting and craft work on this show. We built the hanging lanterns in Act Two, as well as five free standing putti statues that hid in the niches during Act Two, one of which 'peed' into a fountain upstage.
